As PFT's Curtis Crabtree notes, the Eagles are expected to take a closer look at Sanchez’s injured shoulder. The former Jets starter suffered the injury in a preseason game against the New York Giants last August and did not play last season. According to multiple reports, the Eagles will sign Sanchez if his shoulder checks out to their satisfaction. Sanchez will likely compete with fellow former USC quarterback Matt Barkley for the backup role in Philadelphia behind Nick Foles.
