Bucs Among Nine Teams With Some Interest In DeSean Jackson; Jets Aren't
(3/29 12:2 PT)

The Facts:
Bucs HC Lovie Smith has seen Jackson, cut Friday by the Eagles, make plays against his team in the passing and return game. And for that reason, Smith and general manager Jason Licht said Friday that they will consider Jackson but emphasized he would have to be the right fit on and off the field. "I've had a chance to be on the other side of the field and have watched him make a lot of great plays," Smith said. "He's a great football player. Of course, we look at everyone we think can help us win." Reported by the Tampa Bay Times

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The Bucs were not among the teams Friday to contact Jackson's agent and Licht was less enthusiastic. "He'd have to be the right fit on and off the field," Licht said. "I don't want to dismiss him right away but we're looking at a bunch of other players, too. ..." Meanwhile, Profootballtalk.com reports that no fewer than nine teams are interested in Jackson. The Chiefs are one. The Raiders are another. Washington, Buffalo and the Niners might be on that list. The Panthers might or might not be. But Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News is reporting Saturday morning that the Jets aren't. GM John Idzik and owner Woody Johnson aren't keen on the wideout based on reports of possible gang affiliations (which Jackson has denied). ... Stay tuned. There will be no shortage of Jackson-related tidbits coming.
