Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Rice was indicted by a grand jury on third-degree aggravated assault after a February altercation with his then-fiancé Janay Palmer. Court documents state that Rice, "did attempt to cause significant bodily injury to Janay Palmer, and/or did purposely or knowingly cause significant bodily injury to Janay Palmer and/or under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to the value of human life, did recklessly cause significant bodily injury to Janay Palmer." One day after a grand jury indicted Rice with third-degree aggravated assault for allegedly hitting Palmer with enough force to knock her unconscious at an Atlantic City casino in February, the two were married in a secret ceremony. ... At the arraignment Rice will face formal notification of the charges. He is then expected to enter a plea or a diversion program such as anger management. A conviction of 3rd-degree-aggravated assault can carry a sentence of 3-5 years in jail. The Raven continue to support Rice while the NFL is watching the case closely; Rice is subject to league discipline in this case.
