Titans Expected To Release Chris Johnson Today
(4/4 9:26 PT)

The Facts:
Following up on the ongoing story. ... As Adam Schefter reported it on Twitter this morning, "No great surprise, but Titans are releasing Johnson today, per source close to situation." Johnson will be a free agent. Reported by FootballDiehards.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
This jibes with any number of reports in recent days. Johnson is heading to Nashville today to take a physical in advance of OTAs. The fact that he's due to make $8 million this season that the Titans have no intention of paying means they won't want him taking part in the workouts (an injury at this point would put them on the hook for the full amount). Johnson, who is recovering from knee surgery in January, might not be able to pass the physical. But since the Titans have not planned to retain him, it's a moot point. The Titans began shopping Johnson to other teams last month with success. Once Johnson hits the open market, FOXSports' Mike Garafolo reports the Giants and Cowboys will join the Jets in having some interest in Johnson. ... Stay tuned.
