New CBA Could Help Charles Rogers Keep Bonus
(3/24 9:43 PT)

The Facts:
Rogers appears to have his bonus protected from a grievance filed last year by the Lions. As part of the recent CBA extension, the power has swung from owners to the players in the so-called "disciplinary" clauses. For Rogers, that means the Lions aren't likely to prevail in their bid to reclaim more than $10 million of the $14 million rookie signing bonus Rogers got as a first-round draft pick in 2003. Reported by the Detroit News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
None of this solidifies Rogers' position as he heads into his fourth season. He must prove himself to a new coaching staff. Rogers did little last year, before or after the suspension. The coaches were not enamored of his work habits and made him inactive for three games. In nine games, with three starts, Rogers caught 14 passes.
