The Facts:
The Falcons extended Mora's contract for the three additional seasons through 2009. "We're delighted Jim is our head coach, and we want him to be a part of our long-term success," owner Arthur Blank said in a statement. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Mora, who has guided the Falcons to a 20-14 record with an appearance in the NFC championship game in 2004, signed a five-year, $7.5 million deal when hired. The final two seasons were option years, where the Falcons could have terminated his contract without any financial liability. Now, those two years and a third, are believed to be guaranteed.
