The Jets re-signed Baker, an unrestricted free agent, on Friday. Terms were not disclosed. "Chris provides us with a strong blocking component in our offense," Eric Mangini said. Although he did the bulk of his damage in Week 1, Baker had a career-high 18 receptions and 269 yards before suffering a season-ending leg injury on November 8. ... However, Mangini's comment -- stressing Baker providing a blocking component and stressing his willingness to fit in -- could lead one to assume the new coach will rely more heavily on Doug Jolley as a receiver.
