The Facts:
Scott Linehan said the
signing of free-agent Tony Fisher is unrelated to Faulk's status with the team. Linehan remains under the impression that Faulk is coming back for his 13th NFL season. "I think he is," Linehan said Friday. "He has never given me any indication that he's not."

Linehan went on to explain that Fisher's skills as a third-down back were a factor in his signing. But the coach stressed that won't cut in Faulk's ability to contribute. "That signing is really not for any other reason other than we need a third guy that if called upon can do the job," Linehan said. It's worth noting the team
recently lost Arlen Harris to the Lions.
