The Facts:
Nick Saban said the Dolphins have not asked Mare to take a pay cut but are trying to "restructure" his contract so he can finish his career in Miami. "If Olindo is saying in the paper [that he has been asked to take a pay cut], he shouldn't be," Saban said. "He swears to me he's not, but I know it keeps ending up in the paper."

Mare has indeed
been quoted in local reports as Saban suggested. The veteran kicker is set to have a base salary of $1.4 million this year. The Dolphins added Ola Kimrin to the roster early this month and had a visit from then-free agent Mike Vanderjagt adding fuel to the notion Mare's future in Miami is less-than-secure.
