The Facts:
The agent for Proehl said yesterday he has had preliminary discussions with the Giants. Proehl, who had 25 catches for 441 yards and four touchdowns for Carolina last season, turned down a one-year deal from the Giants in 2002 and signed a three-year contract with the Panthers instead.
