While the Dolphins continued to work Tuesday on a trade for quarterback Joey Harrington, the team started to make backup plans by showing interest in Martin. The Bengals also have reached out to Martin. "It's looking like which ever team doesn't land Harrington is going to go after Jamie," a league source said.

The Dolphins have agreed to the framework of a two-year contract with Harrington but are having trouble meeting the Lions' asking price in a trade. The Bengals, who at this time are only offering a one-year contract, also have balked at giving in to the Lions, who are letting it be known that they are prepared to wait until the summer to trade Harrington in order to get what they want.
