The Cardinals are interested in signing Hakim, but a deal might not be reached until after the April 29-30 NFL draft. An unrestricted free agent, Hakim would like to sign now, said his agent, Chuck Price. "The biggest issue is the timing of it," Price said.

Price also acknowledged that the team's level of enthusiasm for the deal doesn't match his and Hakim's. The Cardinals might not want to sign Hakim, who hasn't been healthy enough to make it through a full season since 2001, until they see what players they draft.
