The Facts:
Barring a change of heart overnight, coach Dave Wannstedt is expected to name Fiedler starting quarterback for the season opener against Tennessee on Sunday. Fiedler and A.J. Feeley are expected to meet with Wannstedt later today, when he'll let them know who will be the starter, at least at the beginning of the season.

Wannstedt was still debating the question long and hard among his coaching staff into Sunday night. The decision has weighed heavily on his mind for two weeks, but given the attrition suffered due to Ricky Williams' surprise retirement and David Boston's season-ending knee injury, Fiedler has to be considered the safer choice.
