Dominic Rhodes Believes He's Ready To Fill James' Shoes
(4/17 10:0 PT)

The Facts:
Questions as to whether he can make a lasting impression in '06 as Edgerrin James' successor remain, but Rhodes has an answer: "I'm ready to go out there and roll," he said. "I'm getting ready to have a very productive season and show everybody who thinks because Edge is gone we're going to have a vulnerable spot that I'm here to stay." Reported by the Indianapolis Star News

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As Star staffer Mike Chappell suggests, until Rhodes proves he can replace James, skeptics will remain. Along with limited productivity since his rookie season, there is a durability issue. And even though management forked over a hefty roster bonus in March, they could use their first pick in the draft (No 30) on a running back or acquire a veteran free agent should one of interest become available before training camp.
