Alexander is in the process of trying to add 10 pounds to last year's 245-pound playing weight to help him hold up better in pass protection, an area in which he played "decent" but "probably struggled with the most last year."

Alexander cited matchups with bull-rushing defensive ends and increasingly larger, more athletic linebackers as part of the motivation for change, but it would appear the overall goal is putting himself in position to remain on the field as much as possible this fall. ...
