The Lions on Wednesday re-signed FitzSimmons, a restricted free agent, to a one-year deal. FitzSimmons began his NFL career with Detroit in 2003.

FitzSimmons played in 14 games last season and had 10 receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. He also had a career-high 19 tackles on special teams last year. He's a capable enough receiver and willing enough blocker, but so far he's shown no indication of emerging as anything more than that.
