The Facts:
On the eve of the NFL draft, Nick Saban had dinner with Williams and pledged to support him "in whatever he chooses to do in his future." Among the possibilities is playing in the CFL. But Williams remains under contract with the Dolphins, allowing them to prevent him from playing elsewhere.

"We really didn't discuss that in any kind of depth," Saban said. "Those are the kinds of decisions we would certainly like to have some input into. ..." Williams owes the Dolphins $8.6 million for breaching his contract when he retired in 2004. He returned to play for Saban last season, and in the wake of his suspension, Williams said he wanted to rejoin the Dolphins in 2007.
