The Facts:
In an interview with ESPN reporter Sal Paolantonio, Eric Mangini said Pennington will be on the field working out "to some degree in late May -- doing supervised things with our medical staff. ..." The coach was no more specific than that.

Pressed further as to whether Pennington will be the team's opening day starter, Mangini was noncommittal, telling Paolantonio the veteran signal caller would have to compete "like everybody else." With all due respect to Brooks Bollinger, everybody else -- at least at this point -- includes Patrick Ramsey and incoming rookie Kellen Clemens.
