Bears TE Desmond Clark Wants The Ball
(5/7 9:23 PT)

The Facts:
After a disappointing 2005 season, Clark told reporters everybody involved -- himself, the QBs and coaches -- were to blame for not getting the ball to the tight end. "We're asked to do more than catch the ball, and that has been the big issue," said Clark. "We need a tight end who catches the ball. That's how I make my money -- by catching the ball. When I came into the league, I came in as a receiver. So I'm what people are looking for. We just have to get more of it." Reported by the Chicago Tribune

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The 6-2, 254-pound Clark, who caught 24 passes for 229 yards and two touchdowns in 13 games last season, was a wide receiver at Wake Forest. It's worth noting that Clark has the endorsement of the man who counts most -- head coach Lovie Smith. "There isn't any second-guessing in Halas Hall," Smith said of the team's decision not to draft a tight end.
