Pats Rookie WR Chad Jackson Impresses On Day 1
(5/14 8:55 PT)

The Facts:
During his first, non-contact, instruction-oriented workout inside the Patriots' practice bubble, Jackson flashed all the skills that led the Pats to trade up to the 36th pick in the second round to nab him. His speed and hands were obvious, and he appeared to run his routes with crispness. He made some nice grabs on passes over his head and at his feet, and not one ball that touched his body hit the ground. He was the best player on the field.  Reported by the Boston Herald

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Jackson said his best attribute for the NFL was just "running fast. Running fast and catching the ball." Bill Belichick, meanwhile, broke down his skill set to the Pats' two most coveted attributes: "Getting open and catching the ball." Belichick didn't mention size or speed, although Jackson (6-foot-1, 202 pounds) has more of both than teammate Deion Branch. ... While Herald staffer Michael Felger admits that evaluating players in shorts and helmets can be deceiving, the good news for the Pats is that sometimes first impressions are, indeed, correct.
