The Facts:
Only two weeks after signing him as a free agent, the Falcons have released Marler, again leaving the team without an experienced kicker on its roster. Team president/general manager Rich McKay said Thursday that the Falcons might subsequently re-sign Marler, noting that the club "is working through the situation with the younger guys right now." Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The move with Marler leaves the Falcons with three young kickers -- Zac Derr, Ryan Rossner and Tony Yelk -- on the roster. All were signed free agents this spring and none of the three has ever attempted a field goal in a regular season game. Meanwhile, the team continues to show little interest in incumbent PK Todd Peterson, who remains an unrestricted free agent.
