The Facts:
Despite Gary Kubiak's hope that Davis would participate in mini-camp, Davis' left knee didn't allow it. Kubiak said the next month will be important for Davis. "When (Davis) went through a couple of the walk throughs (last week), his knee did swell up on him a little bit," Kubiak said. "It's not important right now that he's ready to play today, so we'll be smart with him.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The coach is right; it isn't important where Davis, who underwent surgery on the knee last December, stands today. As long as he's recovered in time to get in a full training camp -- with enough practice time to learn Kubiak's scheme -- all should be well. ... If that's not the case, Antowain Smith will become an increasingly interesting prospect.
