The Facts:
With Ahman Green and Najeh Davenport out until training camp with injuries, Herron has been getting more than his fair share of snaps with the No. 1 offense in the Packers' latest series of voluntary practices, seemingly having replaced Samkon Gado for the time being as the go-to back thanks in large part to his quick assimilation of Green Bay's new zone-blocking scheme.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Herron said he became somewhat familiar with zone blocking while at Northwestern. Also working in Herron's favor is that he has caught the eye of coach Mike McCarthy, who has singled out Herron for praise on a couple of occasions so far this month. "I see him as both a halfback and a fullback, particularly with our lead zone run schemes," McCarthy said. ... Of greater interest from a Fantasy perspective might be Gado's ongoing inability to pick up on the new offense.
