The Facts:
The Norv Turner and Smith match could be the beginning of a fruitful relationship. With Smith's grounding in the fundamentals of drop-back passing last season, Turner is trying to speed up Smith's tempo in the pocket. "He has got to use his athletic ability; that's his strength," Turner said. "He's going to get back quick, he's going to get set up. It's going to give him another split second to make a decision." From the moment Smith takes the snap, Turner typically implores him to get rid of the ball.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Turner plans to make full use of Smith's mobility. Misdirection plays and bootlegs appear to be a huge part of the game plan and the plays often flummoxed the defense. It's something Turner couldn't do last year as head coach of the Raiders with the slow-footed Kerry Collins.
