The Facts:
McCown has a partially torn ACL in his right knee and is scheduled for surgery this week. McCown sustained the injury during workouts last week and did not participate in Tuesday's mini-camp practices.

The Bucs do not believe McCown will miss the entire season, but Jon Gruden said the team would pursue a quarterback with NFL experience. McCown had been expected to enter this season as starter Chris Simms' top backup. Tampa Bay has three other quarterbacks on its roster: veteran Tim Rattay, second-year player Jared Allen and rookie Bruce Gradkowski. They allowed Brian Griese to move on to Chicago as a free agent earlier this year.
