Jags Trying To Light A Fire Under Ernest Wilford?
(6/28 1:30 PT)

The Facts:
There will be a lot of competition for backup jobs, including the third receiver slot. Jack Del Rio said Wilford, who started last year when Reggie Williams suffered two concussions, Cortez Hankton, who was limited to five games last year with a high ankle sprain, and Chad Owens, who appeared in one game as a rookie last year and spent the last 14 games on the practice squad, appear to be the leading contenders. "I'd say they are the early favorites," Del Rio said.  Reported by the Florida Times-Union

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Sure coach. ... Wilford might need to pick up the pace a bit, but we don't believe either Hankton, a great special teamer, or the diminutive Owens will truly push for the No. 3 role once the hitting starts. Wilford isn't the team's most explosive receiver, but his ability to separate from defenders still sets him apart from the contenders.
