Holmes' personal trainer, Bremond "Bay Bay" McClinton, said Monday that Holmes' status is "still in limbo" and Holmes was doing some training but "not a lot."

Nothing really new here, just further confirmation of previous reports -- including one from last weekend in which Holmes himself told the San Antonio-Express News that he still hasn't received medical clearance to resume work. As Star staffer Elizabeth Merrill summed up: "It's possible Holmes could start the season on the physically unable to perform list. It's also possible Holmes could decide to retire if his final evaluation isn't favorable. ..." Sounds about right to us.
