The Facts:
It's not a surprise the Rams plan to put Faulk on injured reserve because of a bad knee. But it is a shame. Faulk wants to play but he doesn't know if he can because of a knee that has been slow to recover from arthroscopic surgery. With $2 million on the line, Faulk is willing to wait out his recovery and try to give it a chance. There is a sense, though, that the Rams would make the decision.

So says ESPN.com insider John Clayton. It's worth noting that we've yet to see any other independent reports confirming this story. Clayton added that team officials could place Faulk on the physically unable to perform list and give him until October to get healthy. The injured reserve list would end his season, effectively ending his career. As long as the Rams don't waive him injured, Faulk would get his $2 million. ... Stay tuned.
