Cardinals Sign Rookie TE Leonard Pope
(7/21 10:22 PT)

The Facts:
Pope, a big-time college performer who slipped deeper into the 2006 draft than anticipated, signed his first contract with the Arizona Cardinals, a three-year deal. Reported by ESPN.com

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
As ESPN.com insider Len Pasquarelli suggests, Pope could solve the Cardinals' longstanding problems at the tight end spot. One of the most conspicuous receivers in the college game over the past two seasons, Pope -- at nearly 6-8 -- presents a huge target. He also runs a 4.6-second 40-yard dash and boats a 37-inch vertical leap. Look for him to work his way into Arizona's passing attack early on.
