The Facts:
GM Rich McKay said he is concerned about using Zac Derr and Tony Yelk -- neither has attempted a kick in an NFL game -- in a game situation right now, but he added that the Falcons want to develop a kicker so they don't have to keep plugging that position every season.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
The team will not forsake potential victories in pursuit of that philosophy, though, McKay said. "We would go at least two, three, four weeks before we'd want to make any type of move," McKay said about the kickers. "We have a list of veterans and we'll work the rosters of other teams. ..." According to previous reports out of Atlanta, Paul Edinger is first on the list of veteran free agents. Todd Peterson, the Falcons' kicker last year, could be signed, but only as a last resort, because the team wasn't impressed with his range beyond 40 yards.
