The Facts:
Saints officials are ecstatic at the rapid recovery Brees has made from his off-season shoulder surgery, and there are next to no doubts he will be ready for the season. Still, the Saints will, according to one team official, place Brees on a "pitch count," at close to 75 percent of the amount of throws he normally would be accustomed to making.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
NFL Network insider Adam Schefter reports that Brees is expected to make no more than 100 throws per day, about 30 fewer than a regular starting quarterback would. One team official said they might even limit Brees' throws to 75 or 80 throws. But whatever the number is, it clearly will be less than normal. The idea is to rest his shoulder as much as possible and not overuse it before he has to. ... All that said, Schefter suggests the Saints have been thrilled at the quarterback they have landed to lead their franchise. Team officials say Brees has been everything -- and more -- that they hoped he would.
