The Facts:
Collins will reportedly visit the Titans Friday and undergo a physical. ESPN's Chris Mortensen reports Collins could sign with the team and participate in training camp. Sources said the former Panther and Giant, who was released by Oakland this offseason, had been contacted by several teams, but really only had interest in the Titans.

The Titans signed first-rounder Vince Young to a new six-year contract Thursday. Though getting to camp on time will aid his progress, Young would likely not be ready early in the season to help the Titans for an extended period of time. The interest in Collins may provide the Titans with a backup plan in case Billy Volek were to have an injury problem early in the season. The current depth chart has Volek, Young and Matt Mauck third.
