Just as was the case last year when he was a rookie, quarterback Aaron Rodgers will receive the bulk of the snaps during training camp practices and exhibition games. Mike McCarthy wants to limit the number of throws Favre makes this summer and wants to get a long look at the Packers' 2005 first-round draft choice.

"We're going to do the same approach to Brett as we did in the spring, put him on a pitch count and pay close attention to his arm," the coach said.
While Rodgers will get extra reps, McCarthy said he could not envision a scenario in which Favre did not take part in an exhibition game. ... The pitch count is a wise strategy, don't read too much into it.
