The Facts:
As
previously noted, Martin has been slow to recover from an arthroscopic procedure performed on his right knee last December and was placed on the active/physically unable-to-perform list yesterday. Houston is expected to work with the first team today in Martin's absence. Derrick Blaylock and rookie Leon Washington are also in the mix.

Martin has bounced back from injury throughout his career, but age is an issue. Houston showed some potential as a downhill runner while starting four games for an injured Martin as a rookie last year and appears to be in line for the top back-up spot -- and a starting role if need be -- again this year.
