The Facts:
Rod Gardner, who failed his physical because of a hamstring injury he suffered in the OTAs, expects to be cleared by the medical staff to practice soon. "They just want to give it a few days and monitor it. I did the run test and it got a little tired," Gardner said. "It should be a couple days at the max." ... Fellow receiver Robert Ferguson flunked because of a quad injury from the OTAs but thinks he'll practice today.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Given recent positive reports about the progress being made by rookie Greg Jennings -- not to mention the presence of veteran Marc Boerigter (who is well suited to working in McCarthy's version of the West Coast offense), Ferguson and Gardner both need to have strong camps to secure roster spots.
