The Facts:
McCareins, was put on PUP for apparent disciplinary reasons on the first day of practice, then activated Saturday. Eric Mangini wouldn't specify why McCareins was deactivated. He said the receiver was put back on the active roster after passing a conditioning test at 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Although initial reports speculated that a foot injury suffered during a June mini-camp workout was the reason McCareins opened camp on the PUP, it was later learned that the former Titans wideout failed his first attempt at the conditioning test. ... Hopefully McCareins received the message and picks up the pace. His presence as a legitimate threat could help teammate Laveranues Coles re-emerge as a high-end Fantasy prospect.
