The Facts:
Davis is the key to the Texans' running game, and he has been nursing a sore knee that is running short of cartilage. The plan was to let him practice once a day, but soreness after the second day caused him to get an MRI exam that didn't show any new damage. "It's nothing new, just real sore," said Davis. "I want to be on the field, because I have to learn this new system."

Kubiak has been concerned about Davis since learning his star running back would be unable to participate in off-season drills because the knee was an ongoing issue. "We're going to do what's best for Domanick," Kubiak said. "We've got to be intelligent about the way we handle him. ..." The Texans have been in the market for a veteran back all offseason and are one of several teams interested in Michael Bennett of New Orleans. ... Stay tuned. We haven't heard the last of this.
