The Facts:
Ricard signed Tuesday with the Bills, who are trying to bolster a running attack led by Willis McGahee. Ricard, a five-year veteran, appeared in only two games with Baltimore last season before being placed on injured reserve because of a chronic calf injury.

The 5-foot-11, 237-pound running back is expected to compete with returning starter Daimon Shelton. The Bills have two other fullbacks, Joe Burns and Jon Goldsberry. Ricard broke into the NFL with the Ravens in 2001 and played a key role in 2003 as a lead blocker for Jamal Lewis, who led the league with 2,066 yards rushing. Ricard was a Pro Bowl alternate that season.
