Brady participated in all four practices on Friday and Saturday, the first two days of camp, before sitting out Sunday's single session and both on Monday. That left No. 2 quarterback Matt Cassel to play a bigger role. He is entering his second season after seeing little playing time at Southern California. For what it's worth, NFL Network insider Adam Schefter believes Brady's absence was due to nothing more sinister than a standard "pitch count."
