Gore is in a heated competition with Kevan Barlow for the 49ers' starting job, and Mike Nolan doesn't have a favorite just yet. Barlow, a six-year veteran who has spent his entire career in San Francisco, isn't giving up his first-string spot without a fight, but at this point we're still looking for Gore to win out when all is said and done. That said, we expect the Niners to use both this fall.
