What was an intense three-for-all between Nall, J.P. Losman and Kelly Holcomb has suddenly become a two-horse race with word coming down Monday that Nall could be sidelined 10 days to as long as three weeks, depending on how he responds to treatment.

If Nall is out three weeks, he'll have missed the Bills' first two preseason games at which time a decision on the starting quarterback may have already been made. Ideally, Dick Jauron would like his man in place so he can give him two practice games with the first unit. In other words, the competition essentially comes down to Losman vs. Holcombe -- again.
