The effects of his first concussion left Shockey nauseous, sensitive to light, reduced his motor skills and made it difficult for him to sleep, the three-time Pro Bowl tight end said Wednesday. "Don't get too close, I might get sick," a soft-spoken and rather subdued Shockey said. "I am feeling better but I have headaches and I am pretty sensitive to light."

Shockey said he never lost consciousness and that he remembered everything that happened. The five-year veteran said he has been to the hospital several times for tests over the last 36 hours. Nothing bad has shown up, and he said doctors said he had a stage 1 concussion. ... Shockey plans to return to practice when his headaches subside and he has 100 percent of his motor skills.
