The Facts:
Mangum said Thursday he's dealing with a case of plantar fasciitis, which could keep him out of practice for several weeks. Mangum said he first experienced problems in June workouts and the symptoms got worse when training camp opened.

Plantar fasciitis is inflammation of the bottom of the foot, caused by excessive stretching of the plantar fascia. Mangum has his left foot in a cast. He hasn't practiced in several days and said trainers told him he'll wear the cast for a few weeks. ... Mike Seidman, Michael Gaines and rookie Jeff King will get extra work in Mangum's absence.
