Davis will rest his knee through the weekend in hopes that the swelling subsides. He will be back on the field on Monday morning, according to Gary Kubiak.

The longer this problem persists the more worried we become. Davis did visit his own physician to secure a second opinion on the knee earlier this week and by all accounts there is no structural damage. Still, the pattern of practice followed by swelling and soreness followed by time off isn't a good sign -- certainly not the first week of August. ... Meanwhile, the Houston Chronicle reported this morning that Vernand Morency is finally starting to get a feel for Kubiak's scheme.
