The Facts:
Gonzalez continues to talk to the Chiefs about renegotiating his contract. The 30-year-old, seven-time Pro Bowler signed a seven-year, $31 million contract in 2002. 49ers rookie TE Vernon Davis signed a five-year, $23 million deal last Friday, making him the NFL's highest-paid tight end at $4.6 million per year. Gonzalez' deal is for $4.4 million per year. "You've got a guy like Vernon Davis; his contract is something I've noticed," Gonzalez said Wednesday.

Fantasy Football Diehards Line:
Gonzalez's other request of the Chiefs is that he get the ball more often in the red zone. Last year, he had just two touchdowns. "The only thing that I wanted this year was more calls in the red zone," he said. "I think they're gonna do that. ..." Maybe, but Willie Roaf's retirement means somebody is going to have to block more. Gonzalez was that somebody when Roaf missed time last year.
