Bears cornerback Nathan Vasher, who returned a missed field-goal attempt a NFL record 108 yards in a 49ers' loss last November, was injured on the Bears' fourth defensive play after colliding with Barlow. Barlow also injured his thigh and shoulder on the play and was taken out of the game. "I got a little bit of payback," Barlow said.

Payback at what cost? While Barlow's injuries don't sound serious, Frank Gore ran for 49 yards and a touchdown against the Bears. Given pre-season reports hinting that Gore might already be favored in their competition, Barlow's ability to bounce back bears watching.
