The Colts might be without one of their main offensive players when they open the regular season Sept. 10 against the Giants. Stokley's status for the opener is in doubt after the team's No. 3 receiver suffered a sprained left ankle in Sunday night's practice.

Asked after this morning's practice if Stokley might miss the Giants game, Tony Dungy replied: "There is a chance. (With) ankle sprains, you never know. We'll take it day-to-day and see what happens. ..." Stokley underwent a magnetic resonance imaging test on his left ankle.
