Tony Dungy declined Thursday to elaborate on Vinatieri's injury, saying he expected a team doctor to update about the kicker's recovery on Friday.  Reported by the Associated Press

Vinatieri's mother told the Indianapolis Star that her son said he had a fractured plant foot. Vinatieri has missed two preseason games since Dungy said he injured his left ankle while running Aug. 14 during conditioning at training camp. For what it's worth, Colts spokesman Craig Kelly continues to tell reporters that Vinatieri had not suffered any broken bones and that he was recovering from a sprained ligament. ... Stay tuned.
