Likely to soon be bumped from the top spot on the depth chart, probably by the Sept. 10 regular-season opener, Volek will waive the no-trade clause in his contract to facilitate a move to another NFL team.

Among the teams which might be interested in adding Volek, whose resume includes 10 starts, are San Diego and Cleveland. Kerry Collins, meanwhile, said he’s getting more comfortable with the offense.
