The Facts:
FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reports that Seattle personnel director Ted Thompson has accepted the general manager job in Green Bay, a move that will be announced at press conference at noon eastern time. The team will talk to Mike Sherman this morning and inform him that Thompson will be taking Sherman's general manager role. It's unclear what Sherman will do and the coach has one year remaining on his contract.

Thompson is considered one of the top personnel men in the business, although he doesn't get much publicity because of his quiet nature and lack of media push. However, those close to him say being GM of the Packers is his dream job, especially considering he's already been there and has many close ties.
